SimplexGrinnell Annual Security Advisory Council Will Examine the Role of the Security Systems Integrator
March 24, 2003
HOUSTON, Texas and WESTMINSTER, Massachusetts (March 24, 2003) - SimplexGrinnell, North America's leading integrated life-safety systems provider (www.simplexgrinnell.com), today announced that its annual Security Advisory Council Summit will be held April 15 and 16 in Phoenix, Arizona.
This marks the third consecutive year that SimplexGrinnell has gathered leading security industry professionals together for an in-depth analysis of current trends and issues affecting security customers and the delivery of integrated security. A select group of industry leaders, consultants and security directors from Fortune 500 companies has been invited to this year's event, where they will engage in two days of discussions with SimplexGrinnell executives and integrated security experts.
The topics on the agenda include: The real impact of 9/11 in various market segments The anticipated results of the Homeland Security law New risk management measures Changing requirements for security integrators Product trends and emerging technology A Successful Track Record
"We've had great success with our previous Security Advisory Council Summits," says Dave Baer, Vice President of Sales and Marketing at SimplexGrinnell. "SimplexGrinnell recognizes the importance of soliciting input and feedback from end users, consultants and others who play a critical role in the industry. The caliber of the people who participate in the summit is superb, and the insights they provide are invaluable to SimplexGrinnell as we strive to better serve the commercial security marketplace and, most importantly, our customers."
At last year's Summit, SimplexGrinnell came away with a better understanding of the heightened focus on life safety as a result of 9/11 and of the need to offer customized, multi-level training for security customers.
"Feedback from the previous two Security Advisory Council Summits has transformed our approach to the marketplace," says Kevin Maynard, Director of Marketing at SimplexGrinnell. "Our primary goal this year is to determine what the market wants from security system integrators that is not now being provided to any appreciable degree. The focus will be on the role of the security systems integrator and what SimplexGrinnell needs to understand to best serve customers in our primary markets."
Market-specific Expertise
During the Security Advisory Council Summit, SimplexGrinnell will direct much of the discussion toward a number of important markets where it has specialized expertise - education, healthcare, manufacturing, office towers/corporate campuses and technology.
"SimplexGrinnell is a systems integrator with market-specific applications expertise," says Maynard. "We specialize in designing and delivering complete integrated solutions for hospitals, schools and universities, high-rise office towers, corporate campuses, industrial facilities and technology companies. We have great representation on the Advisory Council from those markets, so we'll devote a considerable amount of time to assessing needs and trends related to those specific applications."
