The Acrovyn Curved Door was developed in collaboration with architects, designers, builders and healthcare professionals for the University of Virginia Hospital patient tower expansion. Architects envisioned rounded walls and curved spaces to give the new tower a friendlier and more private atmosphere, and the strategically placed radius doorways gave nurses wider sight lines into patient rooms from duty stations. The sliding door also saves space by remaining against the wall rather than requiring clearance into the room as a swinging door would.
The door features ultra-durable Acrovyn on the exterior, allowing the doors to handle more than their share of traffic, abrasion and cleaning cycles. Available in all Acrovyn solid colors and woodgrains, which coordinate across all of Construction Specialties’ interior product solutions.
