The VSR-AT flow switch can be tested without flowing water. The AutoTest feature reduces time and cost associated with testing multiple flow switches, conserving water and reducing corrosion in fire sprinkler systems.
The VSR-AT self tests to ensure compliance with UL and FM requirements regarding waterflow detection, retard time, and paddle integrity. A successful test activates both sets of normally open contacts. If the auto test detects a problem with the paddle/trip stem assembly, or if there is no water in the pipe, neither switch contact will activate. The flowswitch will then send a trouble signal to the fire alarm panel. In the event of a fire scenario, the VSR-AT operates as a standard flow switch.
The VSR-AT is UL Listed and FM Approved for use on steel pipe schedules 10 thru 40 sizes 2" thru 8". The VSR-AT may be used as a sectional waterflow detector on large systems.
