MultiTech refreshes sensors, integrated building lines at CES 2022
A "new" MultiTech is this week highlighting the company's first line of sensors and integrated solution offerings at CES 2022 (Jan. 5-8) in Las Vegas, where the company has launched its MultiTech Sensor Line and Bundled Sensor Gateway platform, designed to simplify the complex process of getting data from a sensor to a cloud instance.
The company's demonstrations and announcements at this year's CES showcase its new technology offerings and expertise in LoRaWAN, CBRS Private LTE and edge computing communications.
MultiTech CES 2022 announcements
At CES 2022, MultiTech announced the launch of its OneBox Smart Building platform, geared to enable quick evaluation of LoRaWAN technology for building applications. Billed as a first of its kind, MultiTech says its OneBox starter kit provides a quick, easy path to validate the effectiveness of LoRaWAN and roadmap for expansion with no LoRa expertise required.
Concurrently at CES, MultiTech announced a simplified path for developing and deploying new connected solutions with the launch of its LoRaWAN sensor line. The MultiTech Reveal sensors "seamlessly integrate with the MultiTech portfolio of LoRaWAN gateways to accelerate new customer innovations," as reckoned by the company.
Finally at this year's CES, MultiTech and Megh Computing announced a collaboration to provide video analytics over Private LTE wireless communications. The collaboration seeks to enable access control, social distancing monitoring and people counting by automating 24/7 video surveillance from cameras securely connected to a private LTE network using a MultiConnect eCell cellular to Ethernet bridge and Megh VAS Video AI analytics solution.
CES booth demos
For its booth demonstration in the event's in the IoT Infrastructure Pavilion, the company is displaying its MultiTech OneBox, with live data from MultiTech headquarters in Mounds View, Minnesota displayed on tablets and alerting to exhibit cell phones.
The company says its OneBox kits provide a quick, easy path to validate the effectiveness of LoRaWAN communications and a roadmap for expansion, "with no LoRa expertise required." The kits include the MultiTech Conduit AP indoor gateway and relevant MultiTech Reveal sensors.
Also at company CES booth, attendees are able to see how many people entered a particular zone of the MultiTech exhibit live via the company's video-enabled people counting technology. MultiTech says its MultiConnect eCell CBRS to Ethernet bridge creates wireless agility and improved mobility by quickly and easily connecting new and existing wired assets to a Private LTE network, saving time and money to run expensive cabling – providing primary or secondary (wireless failover) network access to surveillance cameras and enterprise class assets that require business critical connectivity and resiliency.
Also at the MultiTech CES booth, the company's SiteXtender asset data over LoRaWAN was displayed on a DeWalt Tool Connect unit.
CES presentations
MultiTech also had a seat on the CES event's "Panel on Smart Cities: Sensors Monitor Everything" dais.
Further, at the event, MultiTech delivered a CES spotlight presentation on the topic of: "Bridging the Digital Divide - How has CBRS/Private LTE technology been deployed to support distance learning during the pandemic and what are the opportunities it has opened to solve this important issue?"
