Boingo Wireless, a provider of distributed antenna system (DAS), Wi-Fi and private network technology, today announced that Michael J. Zeto III has been appointed to the role of chief commercial officer (CCO), effective immediately.
As CCO, Boingo said in a statement that Zeto will be responsible for driving the company's growth and results across 5G, CBRS, Wi-Fi 6/6E and IoT, and leading the company's emerging businesses, venue acquisition and monetization strategies.
“It’s an exciting time to be at Boingo as the company is poised to take advantage of the incredible mobile data growth and digital demands hitting every industry,” commented Zeto. “Our converged, state-of-the-art wireless networks are unmatched, trusted by world-class organizations to connect people, business and things. We have a long runway of potential and I’m honored to serve as CCO to further advance Boingo’s position as a 5G leader.”
As further stated by the company:
Zeto’s appointment will accelerate Boingo’s mission to simplify complex wireless challenges for major airports, transit stations, stadiums, military bases, hospitals, commercial properties and enterprises worldwide. His team will oversee end-to-end network management for customers and enable their digital transformation using Boingo’s portfolio of private networks, DAS, Wi-Fi, macro towers and small cells.
Zeto is a wireless industry veteran. Prior to Boingo he worked at AT&T as vice president, Internet of Things solutions, and founder and general manager for AT&T’s Smart Cities solutions. He joined Boingo in 2020, previously serving as senior vice president of global strategy and emerging businesses. Under his leadership, Boingo has grown its DAS and Wi-Fi footprint and launched a Private Network platform, which offers large venues and enterprises dedicated, secure wireless connectivity with enhanced capacity, control and coverage.
“Boingo is uniquely positioned in the wireless industry as a total connectivity provider that brings diverse networking solutions together under one managed platform,” concluded Boingo CEO Mike Finley. “As our business expands, we are pleased to have Michael Zeto—a strategic leader with a proven track record of success—step into the CCO role to deploy complex networks at world-class venues and drive Boingo’s aggressive growth initiatives.”
