Igor (Des Moines, Iowa), provider of of smart building automation technology, on Feb. 4 announced the appointment of Laura Goedken as chief financial officer, James Oldham as senior vice president of sales, Craig Getchell as sales director, and Lisa Acheson as partner marketing manager. The fast-growing firm also announced the promotion of Kim Johnson to vice president of marketing.
For more than seven years, Igor has been an innovation leader in IoT smart building technology. Igor’s flagship product, Nexos, is a PoE-based IoT smart building platform that incorporates hardware, software and cloud analytics to enable smart and secure buildings. Combined with an open API and real-time data, Nexos is billed as "a forward-looking technology that seamlessly integrates advanced lighting controls with building systems, low-voltage devices, business applications, and more."
Now installed in more than 30 countries, Igor contends that its Nexos platform "delivers on the global market’s readiness to enter the IoT world."
Further, the firm notes that the global commercial real-estate industry’s transition from traditional buildings as fixed assets to digital smart buildings leveraging data-driven analytics can be attributed to the call for greater building agility and efficiency, alongside human comforts and safety. The smart buildings market in the U.S. alone is projected to reach nearly $110 billion by 2026, estimates Igor.

Igor CFO Laura Goedken
Laura Goedken brings more than 20 years of experience in financial leadership to her role as Igor chief financial officer. She most recently served as the chief financial officer for ToxPath Solutions and Services, a start-up professional services and SaaS firm in Piscataway, N.J. There, she provided strategic guidance in finance, accounting and administration while also managing project profitability performance. Prior to that, she was at TaxAct, where she served as division chief financial officer, leading strategic and operating plans. During her time at TaxAct, Goedken contributed to the company’s double-digit CAGR revenue growth.
As a key member of the Igor executive management team, Goedken will manage all financial-related activities for Igor, including evaluation of short- and long-term financial objectives. A strategic confidant to Igor CEO Steven L’Heureux, she will play an essential role in defining the Company’s strategic direction and advocate for the optimal use of financial resources. Goedken’s proven track record within the tech sector will be instrumental in helping provide value to all Igor stakeholders by executing on the company’s priorities and accelerating growth.
Goedken holds a bachelor’s degree in international business management from Central College in Pella, Iowa, and a master of business administration degree with finance & accountancy concentration from Bentley University - McCallum Graduate School of Business in Waltham, Mass.
Igor SVP of Sales James Oldham
James Oldham brings more than 25 years’ experience as a trusted advisor and sales professional to his role as Igor’s senior vice president of sales. His proven track record growing sales of high-value consulting, technology solutions and managed services led him to executive leadership positions in large enterprises, such as NTT, Ltd. and EDS.
At NTT, Ltd. (formerly Dimension Data), Oldham led the company’s Collaboration Go-To-Market strategy across five regions, managing key partnerships with Cisco, Polycom and Microsoft, representing $1.2 billion in annual revenue. His last year there, Oldham not only launched a partnership with Google to build a multi-million sales pipeline, but he also led the smart building launch with Cisco and other key partners with first-year sales’ targets expected to exceed $50 million.
Prior to that, Oldham served as senior vice president of Global Sales and Marketing for Teliris before they were acquired by Dimension Data (NTT, Ltd.) While there, he drove company revenue growth from $5 million to $30 million.
Throughout his career, Oldham has been on executive teams helping build four early-stage technology startups and served clients in various industries, including healthcare, pharmaceuticals, and financial services. He held numerous executive sales roles where he repeatedly demonstrated his ability to deliver significant and sustainable top-line financial growth.
As an integral part of the executive leadership team at Igor, Oldham will lead a global sales and business development team and refine Igor’s go-to-market strategy. He will work directly with CEO and President, Steven L’Heureux, to further accelerate Igor’s impressive sales growth to date and position the Company as the industry’s market leader of IoT smart-building technology.

Oldham has a bachelor’s degree in business administration with a specialization in information systems and quantitative studies from Abilene Christian University in Abilene, Texas.
Igor Vice President of Marketing Kim Johnson
Igor Director of Marketing Kim Johnson has been promoted to vice president of marketing. Since joining the team at Igor in 2015, Johnson helped build the company’s marketing department from the ground up through product launches, partner marketing, public relations, content marketing, digital strategy, sales collaboration and more. In 2020, she was named to LEDs Magazine’s inaugural class of 40 Under 40.
Johnson combines her passion for sustainability and technology with her experience in marketing analytics to develop successful marketing strategies, including the launch of Igor’s Nexos Intelligent Disinfection in spring of last year, which won the 2020 IoT World’s ‘COVID-19 Innovation’ Award.
Prior to joining Igor, Johnson worked as director of client services for Foresight ROI, a boutique market research consulting firm. There, she led the team that managed large clients in diverse industries.
As Igor’s vice president of marketing, Johnson will lead a variety of marketing initiatives, including brand positioning and ensuring Igor’s value proposition is communicated effectively. In her new role, she will also continue to build Igor’s marketing strategy and optimize ROI as well as develop and lead a growing marketing team.
Johnson has a bachelor’s degree from Augustana University in South Dakota and graduated with honors from the University of Iowa’s full-time MBA program with an emphasis in marketing.
Igor Sales Director Craig Getchell
Craig Getchell joins Igor with nearly 20 years of experience in the intelligent building industry and more than 25 years in enterprise technology solutions. Prior to starting as sales director at Igor, he was vice president practice lead in the U.S. for EDGE Building Intelligence Group, which he founded in 2019.
Getchell has a track record for developing proven strategies to quickly catapult sales revenue. His expertise has been honed in multiple business development leadership positions, including for Molex, where he dramatically increased direct and channel sales of the company’s IP/PoE lighting solution.
Getchell also started and owned an intelligent building consulting firm for 16 years, specializing in the implantation of converged IP buildings. His proven methodologies resulted in millions of dollars in hardware and services for multiple partners introducing IP/PoE lighting into the construction marketplace. His designs earned Getchell U.S. Green Building Council - LEED innovation credits and the Realcomm Digital Impact award.
For Igor, Getchell will build and expand the company’s west coast region, positioning and selling their PoE-based smart building solution. As more buildings move from traditional construction to smart buildings, Getchell will help a growing number of customers realize lower construction and operational costs.
Getchell is the author of “Master Technology Planning Process for Real Estate,” and is a former member of the United States Army.
Igor Partner Marketing Manager Lisa Acheson
Lisa Acheson is filling the newly created role of partner marketing manager for Igor. In this position, she will be responsible for expanding Igor’s highly successful eco-system Partners Program and optimizing mutually beneficial business relationships.
Relying on talent in relationship building and marketing communication, Acheson will help align Igor’s company goals with those of our eco-system business partners. By demonstrating the value of Igor products and programs, she will assist in supplying partners with what they need to be successful and accelerate the growth of their organizations by leveraging Igor’s technology and partnership programs.
Prior to joining Igor, Acheson worked in multiple marketing roles at Textura, a SaaS software firm that provided a suite of collaborative cloud-based products for construction and sustainable building teams.
Acheson earned her bachelor of arts in business management from Simpson College in Indianola, Iowa.
