Environmental Systems Design, Inc. (ESD), a top provider of high-performance buildings, electrical, mechanical, and plumbing, fire protection, life safety and technology engineering, in addition to sustainability consulting services, has broadened its talent-base by acquiring and integrating PositivEnergy Practice (PEP), signaling opportunities for growth for the Chicago-based corporation.
PEP, the affiliated energy services, engineering and consulting firm to Adrian Smith + Gordon Gill Architecture LLP, made the move recently into ESD's High Performance Building group, led by Mehdi Jalayerian, an Executive Vice President at ESD. PEP was primarily formed based on the desire to create environmentally responsible design for new and existing buildings.
ESD has worked with AS+GG on projects prior to the acquisition, including Kingdom Tower in Jeddah, Masdar Headquarters in Abu Dhabi, FKI Tower in Seoul and Shakespeare Theater and Steppenwolf Theater in Chicago.
“This integration meshes perfectly with ESD’s mission of Improving Society Through the Built Environment and will strengthen and enhance our long relationship with AS+GG to deliver integrated services throughout the global markets,” says Jalayerian.
